Well the long wait is finally over. We've completed one week of camp and are as ready as we can be to line up tomorrow against visiting the Ridgway Elkers and the Wellsboro Hornets for our first scrimmage of the year.
So far this first week has been interesting I'll say. Most of the players were in shape and ready to go at the start camp this year. Some of the younger players were a little overwhelmed at times I'm sure but they seem to have sucked it up fairly well and are eager to put what they've learned these first 10 practices to the test on Saturday.
Anyone wishing to help contribute to the web page throughout the year, please contact me. With the season in full swing, it takes a lot of work to help keep our many fans informed. I am truly hoping this can turn into an informative location where the Falcon Faithful can keep track of our season this year and for years to come. You can e-mail me at: falcon@coudyfootball.com.
As many of you are aware, Mr. Brown has stepped down from his head coaching position on the Junior High Football team. Mr. Brown has held that position since 1979 after he relinquished the head Varsity position to Mr. Simcoe. His knowledge, patience and enthusiasm will surely be missed and as an ex-player and current coach, I for one want to thank him for all that he has done for me and 1000's of other young men who have come through that program. "Thank you Mr. Brown, you will always be remembered."
Taking over the Junior High team this year is long time assistant, Dana Daisley. He will be assisted by Scott Robinson, a volunteer for the JV and Varsity teams for the past 2 years and long time 7th grade coach, Gene Neefe.
The seventh grade squad is looking strong again this year. With two new coaches there to help our Joe Ayers and Mike Russell, the kids are getting all the attention they can handle at this point. Coudersport Alumni Dan Counts joins the staff as well as John Reese a graduate of Cameron County.
We're glad to have these enthusiastic and eager men to help us continue to build our football program.
