Falcons Soar In Season Opener

Dominate Curwensville 48-0

The Coudersport domination of Curwensville continues. The Falcons have now defeated the Golden Tide 6 straight times and own a 10-2 record over them since the teams began playing each other.

Coudersport spread the ball around to their many skill people throughout the night leaving the Curwensville defense wondering where the ball was going to go next.

Senior QB Brian "Boomer" Wetzel stared off the 2007 campaign going 6 for 12 for 130 yards and 2 TD's and had another TD pass called back on a penalty. A favorite target for Wetzel was Junior receiver Brett Whitman. Whittman had 3 catches for 98 yards and 1 TD.

The Falcon ground attack was led by Senior runningback Kyle Gee. Gee carried the ball 14 times and tallied 87 yards with 3 touchdowns. In all the Falcons rushed for 287 yards on the night.

With all the scoring going on, freshman kicker Cooper Bonczar got lots of action in his debut as the Falcon place kicker. Bonczar made 4 out of 5 attempts with the lone miss being blocked. Not bad for someone who had never even worn a football uniform until the Thursday before the game.
