It was an ugly night Friday at CARP, Paul Simcoe Field. The Brockway Rovers seemed to have our number. After watching film it was really the little things that killed us. Fumbled snaps and untouched blitzing linebackers. You can't give a good team turnovers on your side of the field and we gave them 2 in the second quarter alone. We have to really get better up front. The line has GOT to start taking control of the line of scrimmage. If we do that, we'll be in good shape.
On the good side we had a lot of underclassmen step up and do a great job on defense. We started 2 freshmen at outside backers and 2 sophomore's at safties. They'll only get better from here.
This week we take the long trip to Curwensville (2-0). Curwensville squeaked out a week 1 victory over a tough Port Allegany team and beat up on Otto-Eldred in week 2. They are an aggressive team with a couple of hard nose running backs and a very mobile quarterback. It will be a great test for us to see if we can bounce back. As we're telling the kids, "it's gut check time." We'll see what we're made of this week.
We're expecting the guys to respond and be ready to go. Kick off is set for 7:00 PM at Paul Simcoe Field at Curwensville. Hope to see you there wearing your purple and white.
