Week 3 Preview: Elk County Catholic @ Coudersport

Here come the Crusaders riding the speedy runningback Ricky Pearsall. Elk County is 2-0 beating Cameron County on opening night and then dismantling the Otto-Eldred terrors this past Friday night.

Pearsall has rushed for 341 yards in the first two games this year averaging 11 yards per attempt. He's also returned two kickoffs for touchdowns. Kyle Schneider has thrown the ball just 12 times completing 7 of them for 93 yards with 2 touchdowns and no interceptions.

As for us, we're coming off a tough victory over a very physical Kane team. Kory Majot's fourth quarter touchdown and the subsequent extra point kick by Alexander Renn gave us a 7-6 lead. Our tenacious defense was then able to force a safety to make the final score 9-6.

Leading the way for the Falcon offense is Senior running back Kory Majot with three touchdowns and 157 yards on just 16 attempts; while Sophomore Mitch Freeman has become the work horse rushing for 195 yards on 33 attempts and one touchdown. Junior signal caller Tim McCusker has been under heavy fire when attempting to throw the ball. He's completed just 7 passes on 18 attemtps for 83 yards with one touchdown and one interception.

Defensively for the Purple and White, Senior Creighton Hayes is leading the way with 18 tackles and 2 sacks.
